Restaurant POS pricing in India is rarely one number. The monthly plan is only part of what you pay in the first year. This guide breaks down the cost items so you can compare quotes properly. Prices vary by vendor and change often, so ask each one for a written quote.
The cost items to ask about
Ask every vendor to price each line below, even if it is zero.
- Subscription: monthly or yearly, per outlet, and what each plan includes
- Setup and onboarding: menu loading, tax setup, training
- Hardware: thermal printer, a laptop, tablet or phone you already own, cash drawer, scanner
- Add-ons: aggregator integrations, online ordering, loyalty, extra users or outlets
- Support: included hours, response times and any paid support tier
- Renewal terms: price increases, minimum contract and exit and data export
What Tabla charges
Tabla plans range from Rs 1,499 to Rs 8,999 per month, with yearly billing available. Every plan includes billing, KOTs, tables, menu, customers and reports, and higher plans add more staff logins, tables, menu items and modules such as Swiggy and Zomato. A first-year cost example
Take a single-outlet cafe on a plan costing Rs 2,500 per month. The subscription is Rs 30,000 for the year. Add a thermal printer at roughly Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000 depending on the model, and any one-off setup fee the vendor charges. The total is usually the subscription plus a modest one-time hardware cost, which is why a quote with every line filled in matters more than the headline monthly price.
Cheaper is not always cheaper
A low monthly price can hide per-user charges, paid integrations or slow support. Compare the cost of the year, then weigh it against what the software saves: faster billing, fewer billing errors, tracked stock and wastage, and an accountant-ready tax report.
